Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance tasks per outlined in the departments Policy and Procedure manual.
  • Performs daily maintenance on all boilers.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs all equipment in every mechanical room should there be a failure with one of the systems with limited assistance.
  • Performs daily rounds as directed of all departments and corrects any issues that have been documented in the department’s maintenance communication log. In addition, repairs any abnormalities such as burnt-out light bulbs, stained ceiling tiles etc. that are discovered during these rounds in all areas of the hospital.
  • Performs machinery surveillance rounds, reporting any abnormalities to the Engineering Supervisor. Makes any necessary minor repairs or adjustments to ensure that the equipment is operating properly.

  • Familiar with the operation and maintenance of all equipment in Patient Care and office areas that comes under the jurisdiction of Maintenance e.g..: geriatric chairs, file cabinets, etc.
  • Familiar with all types of controls. i.e.: thermostats, pressure switches, low water controls.
  • Assumes responsibility for specifying materials required for both repair and new installations of equipment.
  • Records information, within 48 hours, when work orders and preventive maintenance have been completed.

Scheduled Hours: 40 hr/wk

Work Shift: M – F 7a – 330p, weekend requirement. Rotating on call weekend shift. (Every 5th weekend)

Education Required: A High School or Trade School Diploma or equivalent required.

Required Experience: A minimum of two to three years building maintenance experience required. Boiler room experience is desirable.

Required Licensure/Certification:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license in order to respond to maintenance callas at multiple offsite locations.
